The Book of Life
Animated. A pig is unharmed after being rescued from a cage and future slaughter; it becomes a sidekick in the film. One character is a bullfighter who refuses to kill the bull.
The Boy Next Door
A cat is thrown down the stairs. It yelps (possibly hurt) and runs away. It does not die.
Neither Queenie, Vince or Landru (all dogs) come to any harm.
The Butterfly Effect
A dog is burned to death inside a bag. Due to the nature of the film, the dog dies more than once.
A guinea pig dies from being impaled. After supposedly biting someone, a dog is nearly hung to death and then euthanized.
A dog is punched in the face and later seen wearing the cone of shame because of his injury. The two pugs, Poundcake and Muffins, are not injured nor are their replacement dogs, Scout and Sergeant. A cow is hit by a vehicle but the extent of its injuries is unclear.
The Cat from Outer Space
The cat/alien, Jake, is not hurt and does not die. The worst that happens to him is getting tranquilized by a vet. With his powers Jake freezes a guard dog but says that it will wear off in twenty minutes.
The dog Valentine does not die. At one point it appears he has been hit by a car but it turns out he was faking. There is a scene where a horse is bloodlessly cut into slices by sheets of glass but since it is a fantasy/dream sequence we're not counting it as a death.
The Charnel House
The movie takes place in a former slaughterhouse. Several cows die. Butch, the Yorkie does not die.
An attacking dog is stabbed in the head and killed. It is later decapitated and its head thrown.
A cat is rescued from a booby trap only to be thrown into another and cut in half. A German shepherd dog is set on fire and thrown at a bad guy.
Despite being smart enough to avoid entering the haunted house, Sadie the dog ends up dying mysteriously early on in the film (her owners wake to find her corpse in the yard). Nothing bad happens to a chicken named Winston who is seen only briefly, but a number of wild birds suffer death by window after throwing themselves at the house (and a car).
The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist
There are two dogs seen in this film. A Golden Retriever and a Rottweiler. Nothing happens to the Golden Retriever, but in one scene the Rottweiler morphs into " a crooked man". At the end of the film you see the Rottweiler 'Baron' again alive and well.
Animated. Douglas, the prehistoric equivalent of a dog (more of a dog-lizard thing) falls off of a tree ledge while trying to learn the roll over trick. It appears as though Douglas has fallen to his death but later he reappears, unharmed.
The Curse of the Werewolf
When sheep turn up dead in a small town, a neighbor's dog is blamed and is killed by a local in an attempt to stop the deaths. There is also mention of a kitten mauled to death but we never see it, alive or dead.
The Dark Knight
In several scenes, attacking dogs are hit and thrown by Batman.
