Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron
Spirit does not die. The mare Rain appears to have died after being injured but it is revealed at the end that she is still alive and has recovered.
A cat is killed by the spliced creature.
A few dogs appear briefly in the background; none are harmed. In a running joke, a building is infested with bats and mice; we don't see any of those harmed either.
A dog is kicked out of a window and is killed when it lands in a lawnmower.

Despite a close call with a harpoon, the humpback whales George and Gracie make it through the movie unscathed. A German Shepherd appears briefly in one scene, guarding a nuclear wessel.
At one point in the film, a goat is humorously transformed into a human, but still has the mentality of a goat. He is killed when the unicorn rescues Tristan and Yvonne by charging into the pub; we see his body hit the bar and fall down stiff, having transformed back.
In the newsreel footage, there is a brief shot of a dead dog crushed under rubble.
The main character's sled dog dies of exhaustion.
Assassin struggles with dog then dog gets shot in head.
The main character's dog disappears and is believed dead but turns up again at the end of the film, alive and unharmed.
Stranger Than Fiction
Several clips from actual nature documentaries appear,. The clips show animals killing other animals, including a clip of crabs attacking a wounded bird.
A deer in the woods is gravely injured and disappears. It is later implied the deer is being eaten.
