In a dream sequence, a dog attacks a young woman. She wrestles with it briefly before the dream ends. The imaginary dog does not appear to be hurt.
We see a horse (Roscoe) shot through the head and killed. A few more horses are killed or injured in an explosion. A horse is pulled to the ground by a man but gets up and appears fine. Tony and Fritz, the main character's horses, do not die. Three dogs appear in one scene; they do not die. A dead rabbit and some dead chickens are briefly seen.
None of the talking animals die or are harmed. A dog is hit by a car but walks away unharmed. At a vet's office we briefly see the vet (not Doctor Dolittle) cover an unidentifiable animal that has just died.
Baby the Great Dane appears in one scene and Edgar Allen the raven appears in multiple scenes. Neither is harmed.
A dog is shot and killed at the beginning of the film but a later dog survives.
One of the children kills a cat with gardening shears out of fear (they've been sheltered from the outside world and don't recognize cats). The father uses this as a way to manipulate them.
A dolphin receives an injury which leads to the amputation of her tail but she does not die.
Dolphin Tale 2
Panama, an elderly dolphin, dies suddenly of old age, causing Winter the dolphin to go into a depression.
Documentary. No animals die. The donor's two dogs, Mama and Junior, appear throughout the film. The donor also cares for a pigeon with a broken wing (it was injured before the start of the film). At one point the pigeon disappears but it is later found safe.
Don't Breathe (2016)
While the dog does get trapped in the car by someone, they are not injured, they are just trapped. And, seeing as how police arrive on the scene not long afterwards, it's safe to say that the dog was taken out of the car too.
Down and Out in Beverly Hills
No pets come to any harm. Matisse the dog gets up to a lot of mischief including running across hot coals (twice!) but is not injured. Kerouac the homeless dog is seen briefly at the beginning but is taken/rescued by a woman and not seen again. A German shepherd police dog and a small dog name Peaches are also seen.
Isis is diagnosed with cancer and is brought up to lay with her master and his wife on her last night.
We don't see any animals die in the film. In the title sequence, four ducks are seen swimming in a pot with flames beneath it. They don't seem bothered by the fire. A dog named Pastrami is seen in a few scenes, another dog barks from a man's tattoo and a horse is seen a couple times. There is also some nature footage of monkeys, elephants and dolphins.
A dog is injured in a car accident and is spat on but does not die.
Duel at Diablo
A horse collapses of thirst in the desert, we see its owner put a knife to its throat and later we see its body.
Dumb and Dumber To
Butthole the cat lives, but a large number of exotic birds he happens to come in contact with aren't as lucky. They are killed and eaten offscreen and we see the blood and feathers that are left behind. One bird survives.
In one scene, a cat and a rat are strapped into an apparatus and we're told that a man has to milk (!) the cat for an antidote. We don't see that happen and, while the animals look uncomfortable, they're not hurt. A pug dog appears during a battle scene and survives unharmed.
East of Shanghai
Original title: Rich and Strange. A cat is rescued from a sinking ship only to be cooked in a stew and fed to its rescuers.
